A warm, safe, supportive and confidential space where you can talk and explore your feelings, beliefs, thoughts and behavioural patterns, as well as relevant aspects of your childhood and relationships. Helping you to access your inner resources and engage in a more effective way with whatever is causing the distress, exploring concerns, worries, fears and anxieties without being judged. Sometimes you don't want to be told how great your life is, if it doesn't feel great, or how lucky you are if you don't feel lucky. Sometimes all you need is an Open Ear to listen without judgements or being told what to do.
How it works
Initially you will have one or two sessions after which, a contract is agreed whereby we will decide on a day and time for you to continue the sessions. Sessions last for 50 minutes and take place at a fixed time on a weekly basis. We offer both short and long term counselling. Short term counselling is useful for immediate crisis and one-off’s. Long-term (open-ended) counselling allows the therapeutic trust and understanding to increase which enables the relationship to develop further and enrich the exploration of discovering appropriate ways of coping with problems and feelings.
