At Open Ear Counselling, we specialise in providing therapeutic play and counselling services to children of school age, ranging from primary school to sixth form and college. Led by a qualified counsellor with 13 years of experience, we are dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and mental health of students in London. We have a special interest in working with neurodivergent individuals, as well as children and young people and believe in the power of early intervention and providing a supportive environment for their emotional growth and wellbeing. Therapeutic Play and Counselling Services:
Primary Schools: We offer tailored therapeutic play interventions for primary school children, creating a nurturing and safe environment for them to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through play. Our play-based approach helps children develop essential coping skills, enhance their self-esteem, regulate their emotions, and build healthy relationships. By integrating our services into your school's support system, we aim to foster a positive and conducive learning environment.
Secondary Schools: For secondary school students, we provide individual counselling sessions that address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, peer relationships, and academic pressures. Through a person-centred and solution-focused approach, we empower students to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and improve their overall emotional well-being. Our goal is to enhance their academic performance and support their personal growth during this critical stage of development.
Sixth Form and College: Transitioning to sixth form or college can be a challenging time for students. Our counselling services are designed to help them navigate this period of change, manage stress, and make informed decisions about their future. We provide a confidential space for students to explore their goals, ambitions, and concerns, assisting them in developing a strong sense of self and building the necessary skills for success in higher education and beyond.
How Our Services Benefit Your School:
Enhanced Emotional Wellbeing: By integrating our therapeutic play and counselling services, you provide students with the opportunity to develop emotional resilience, self-awareness, and effective coping mechanisms. This, in turn, improves their overall wellbeing and positively impacts their academic performance.
Tailored Support: Our experience of 10 years working with neurodivergent children, young people, and adults allows us to provide individualised support to students with diverse needs. We understand the importance of creating inclusive environments and promoting equal opportunities for all students.
Positive School Climate: By prioritising mental health and wellbeing within your school, you cultivate a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel valued, heard, and understood. This can lead to improved attendance, reduced behaviour issues, and stronger relationships between students, staff, and parents.
We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive academically and emotionally. Our aim is to work in collaboration with your school to provide high-quality therapeutic play and counselling services that meet the unique needs of your students.
