In recent years school based counselling has become increasingly more recognised as an effective early intervention strategy for young people experiencing a range of problems;
Relationship reconciliation Behaviour issues Cultural / diversity issues Family / carer issues Health concerns Learning difficulties All of these issues can influence a child's experience and education whilst at school.
The education minister states that:
'it is important that children who are experiencing problem can share them with someone they trust, and school-based counselling with an appropriately trained professional is one of the most prevalent forms of psychological therapy for young people in the UK'.

As well as offering general counselling services I also facilitate group workshops looking at self esteem, careers, bullying, identity, and life skills. I am passionate about inspiring and empowering growth in youths to develop and increase their confidence, work prospects and to maximise their potential.
Workshops - The SMILE programme
The underling principles of the SMILE programmes are to provide a thought provoking, interactive and inspirational service for young people. The programmes offers facilitates for those in need of emotional support, personal development, addressing personal well-being and encouraging further education and career aspiration.
The SMILE programme will host various projects addressing issues our young people face in today's society. These will involve self-esteem and lack of self-confidence, identity, sexual exploitation, empower personal growth, self survival and sustainability, employment and life skills and a place to learn about their history.
By providing services that are centred on the needs of the individuals, I hope to maintain the young persons autonomy and support their choices. This will allow our young people to feel heard and valued and ultimately promote personal growth and self esteem, demonstrated through the extensive workshops and therapeutic interventions.
